Wilderness Technician I
MECTA Outdoors is offering an introductory course (15 hours) in
Wilderness Medicine and Basic Survival. With the use of some basic
tools and the "Great Out Doors" the recipient should know
what to do in an emergency and how to survive
The Wilderness Technician - Level 1 curriculum is APPROVED by the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health, Office
of Emergency Medical Services,
for 15 Continuing Education Credits for EMT's.

Curriculum
This 15 hour course will teach the Essentials and Personal Preparedness
needed for Wilderness Survival. Topics that will be covered include:
Food and Water, Shelter and Making Camp and Medical Care in the
Great Outdoors.
Course Participants will be awarded a National Safety Council certification
card in Wilderness First Aid and a Wilderness Technician Type I
course participation card from the Massachusetts Emergency Care
Training Agency.
